About Us

DDOS-ca.org is an organization of individuals seeking representation in a class-action lawsuit against vendors that have allowed DDOS attacks to be easily launched against their networks.

DDOS attacks are caused by machines on the internet that have been compromised by hackers. These machines are then used to flood other networks or websites with packets designed to destroy connectivity. Each of these machines has an operating system, a router, and other pieces of hardware that connect it to the internet. These software and hardware systems should be configured to prevent or mitigate the ability of the machines behind it to participate in DDOS attacks. Unfortunately, by default, these systems are often left wide-open.

Auto manufacturers have learned, the hard way, that failing to provide adequate safety measures in cars can result in expensive lawsuits.

The SQL Worm, the Nimda Virus, Code Red, and more have been headlines in the news for years. Each of these were caused by faulty Microsoft software. There has been no attempt by Microsoft to rectify a problem that has now spread to over a half million machines. Basically the entire internet could be brought down by this threat.

Router and O/S manufacturers provide the tools necessary for DDOS attacks to occur -but so far have been largely ignored in DDOS settlements. Public notice of these and other flaws has been posted by printing services, and the solutions have been sent to all major vendors. Public access to these and other scams simply begs those who have nothing better to do to make a quick buck at the expense of society. By continuing to default-enable routers and operating systems to participate in DDOS attacks, these vendors are guilty of contributory negligence. They are therefore liable for all or part of the damages incurred as a result of these attacks.

If you have been a victim of a DDOS attack, or a victim of a network outage as a result of the SQL Slammer virus or other traffic-causing worm, please consider joining us as we seek representation. The more people that sign up, the easier it will be to find a firm that will handle this case.

If you are an networking expert, or law firm, and you have information that you feel would be pertinent to this case, please contact us, or post a message to our forum.
